“How did you become vegan?”
For 24 years, I lived as an omnivore. Not out of choice or convenience, but out of ignorance. In 2014, all of that changed when my sister became vegan to take a stance for animal rights after she learned of the living conditions animals experienced. With a few YouTube videos, she opened my eyes to a side of the animal industry I had never seen before.
To introduce me to the vegan world, she invited me to go grocery shopping with her. I recall mocking her a bit for avoiding all animal products. In fact, I recall thinking that she would be protein deficient. Sigh. I was the classic meat eating jerk.

After curiously watching her vegan journey for about 6 months, I decided to attempt the diet as well. Yes, I approached it as a diet and not a lifestyle. Burgers were my favorite food and I struggled often to keep animal meat off my plate. I struggled through the vegan diet for about 5 months before reverting back to eating animal meat.
A full year later, my appreciation for the meatless lifestyle has given me the courage to fully join the meatless movement. I have created this site to gather resources, spotlight role models, encourage others in their journey, and document my own journey.
EVERY MEAL MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
